Installation

jhf-lantern Installation

Lantern uses pnpm through the repo-owned wrapper. Do not replace the package manager path with npm install or npm ci.

Local Setup

python scripts/run_pnpm.py install
python scripts/run_pnpm.py dev

scripts/run_pnpm.py injects NODE_USE_SYSTEM_CA=1 by default unless Node is already configured for --use-system-ca. Set LANTERN_NODE_USE_SYSTEM_CA=off if a bounded environment needs to opt out.

The local UI defaults to fixture mode and serves on:

http://<internal-runtime-redacted>:4173

Preview

python scripts/run_pnpm.py build
python scripts/run_pnpm.py preview

Live-Mode Development

Live mode consumes the repo-owned BFF and should only be used when real readbacks are needed:

python scripts/run_pnpm.py dev:bff
python scripts/run_pnpm.py dev:live

Set VITE_LANTERN_DATA_MODE=live and VITE_LANTERN_API_BASE_URL through a local environment file. Do not commit environment files or credentials.
