Glossary
Each entry names the term as it appears in the Desk or the repository and links to the page that uses it. Record names in the Desk carry the prefix Insurance Broker, for example Insurance Broker Policy. The entity map behind most of these terms is the domain model; the orientation page is Core domains.
People and authority
Party Identity. The insurance-domain identity of a person or organization. Its Subject Kind is organization, natural_person, minor, or unknown_third_party. It links to an ERPNext source record instead of copying it. See Parties.
Party Role. A time-valid role a party holds, for example policyholder, claimant, or carrier. See Parties.
Mandate. The versioned authority a customer gives the broker. It has a status, a validity period, scopes for lines of business, risks, company, and authority, and the collection model. See Mandates.
Company scope. The limit of a company's authority over a party, kept in the Company Party Scope record with a validity period and an authority scope. The word is also used for company-level access: users work only in companies they are authorized for. See Roles and access.
Role. A named permission group such as Insurance Broker Operations. The installable set is pinned by a contract. See Roles and access and the role matrix.
Maker and checker. Two different people for one sensitive action: the maker prepares or matches, the checker approves. In commissions, the person who matched a line cannot approve it. See Commissions.
Products and policies
Product Class. A class of insurance product in the catalogue, linked to lines of business. The catalogue models 51 classes for inventory and import; modelling is not a capability claim. See Product catalog.
Policy. The insurance contract record, with policy number, status, policyholder, mandate version, product class, and regulatory context. See Policies.
Policy Term. A versioned period of a policy with premium and carrier participations. A submitted term is not changed; a new term is created instead. See Policies.
Risk Object. The insured thing or interest, with a risk type and versioned attributes. See Policies.
Coverage. A cover described by a code, label, limit, sublimit, deductible, clauses, and exclusions. See Policies.
Regulatory Context. The pinned country and obligation profile versions under which a mandate, advice case, or policy is handled. See Mandates.
Advice, quotes, and tenders
Advice Case. The record of an advisory process, from assessment to decision, with its regulatory basis and capability status. See Advice and quotes.
Submission. The record of a request to a carrier for a quote, created when an answer is recorded, with a snapshot digest of the risk data. See Advice and quotes.
Quote. A carrier's offer with reference, version, validity, annual premium, and terms. Newer versions refer to the previous one. See Advice and quotes.
Tender. A structured process in which several carriers are invited to answer for the same risks until a response deadline. See Tender overview and Tender states and commands.
Invitation. The record of an invitation to one carrier within a tender. The system records it and sends nothing to the carrier. It has its own status such as invited, declined, or quoted. See Tender prepare and invite.
Recommendation. The advisor's reasoned proposal to the customer after a comparison. See Tender recommendation and decision.
Renewals and claims
Renewal Case. The record that follows a policy toward its next term. See Renewals and deadlines.
Deadline. A dated obligation tracked by the Core, such as a response or notice date. See Renewals and deadlines.
Claim Assistance Case. The broker's record of helping a customer with a claim, with separate broker and carrier status. The Core makes no coverage decision. See Claims.
Commissions
Courtage (commission). The remuneration a carrier pays the broker. The Core tracks it as expectations, statements, and reconciliations. See Commissions.
Commission Statement. A carrier's statement with a reference, date, currency, and lines. See Commissions.
Reconciliation. The matching of one statement line against its expected amount, with a status from unmatched to approved. See Commissions.
Posting Plan. The record of a planned accounting posting for a statement. The default accounting strategy is None, and any document created stays a draft. See Commissions.
Chargeback and reserve. A recovered commission amount and a withheld part of a commission, recorded against a Commission Liability. See Commissions.
Capability
Capability Admission. The record that states, per company, country, product class, and process, which status applies, with evidence references and a validity period. See Core domains.

model_only | Stored for inventory or future modelling; this is the default |
manual_only | Human-controlled process, no automation claim |
supported | Implemented without enough evidence for a public claim |

blocked | Explicitly denied until an admission gate changes |
not_applicable | Not meaningful for that combination |
